How I Did It:
Over my tenure at the jewelry bench, I learned every step of jewelry design — from the most ancient hand techniques to the most modern computer aided methods, and I blend them to fit the objectives and needs of each individual client in front of me.
About Heirloom Redesigns Specifically:
Many people have sentimental and valuable materials that are sitting unused, but are unsure of how to begin again with them.
I was expert in connecting all the logistical and aesthetic dots, but more powerfully in supporting people with the emotional energy that comes with working with objects that hold a lot of meaning, history and significance.
Making clear decisions about personal expression in material form is powerful & transformational. Clients report feeling more confident, witnessed, and happy with their decision to transform the old into something of beauty.
Even though it is more sustainable, it’s a service most jewelers do not offer because it is more emotionally sensitive and poses higher risks — but it was my favorite type of work to do.
